Our chocolate-covered strawberries recipe is perfect to make with your kids. It is simple, easy & only requires few ingredients.
Ingredients
200g milk chocolateÂ
200g white chocolate
500g large strawberries
oil based food colouring optional
Preparation
Step 1
Line a baking tray with baking paper and set aside.Â
Step 2
Rinse and dry the strawberries thoroughly, leaving the stems on will make them easier to dip.Â
Step 3
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals,  stirring in between until the mixture is smooth. (Use a metal spoon to stir the chocolate in between bursts until melted. (It is important to use a metal spoon as wooden spoons can retain moisture and cause your chocolate to seize up).Â
Step 4
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling it around to coat as much of the strawberry as possible.Â
Step 5
Place the chocolate-covered strawberries onto the lined baking tray and leave to set.Â
Step 6
To colour white chocolate, add a drop of oil-based food colour to melted white chocolate and stir with a metal spoon. Repeat step 3 using white/coloured chocolate.Â
Step 7
To decorate strawberries pour any leftover chocolate into a piping bag and drizzle over strawberries.  You can also sprinkle your choice of toppings while the chocolate is still wet. (e.g. sprinkles, coconut flakes, or nuts).  Â
Step 8
Refrigerate until set. Enjoy!
